Pedon is free, open-source software that helps communities build their own petition and survey websites. Please read this before you use it.

It is software, not advice. Nothing in Pedon, its documentation or its setup flow is legal advice. If you collect people's names, emails and opinions, privacy law may apply to you depending on where you and they live. You are responsible for meeting it.

It is not an official ballot petition. A petition made with Pedon shows community support. It does not meet the legal requirements for a ballot measure, initiative, referendum or recall, which have their own rules about who may sign and how. If you need one of those, contact your local elections office.

The words on your site are yours. Pedon does not write your claims, promises or privacy statement. It asks you questions and places your answers. It will not build for production while required text is missing.

The accounts and the costs are yours. Your site runs on services you sign up for yourself. Their terms, limits and prices are theirs and can change.

It is not built for children's data. Do not direct a Pedon site at children or knowingly collect their information.

It comes as it is. Pedon is provided under the MIT license, without warranty of any kind. See LICENSE.
